Seems like RushCard users were out of luck last week as the company was performing technology updates to their systems. The updates left their customers with no access to their online accounts/money. For those out of the loop the RushCard is a Pre-Paid Debit Card that allows access to your money without having a bank account. The card comes with fees of course, such as the $5-$15 activation fee, $10 monthly service fee, and $2.50 ATM withdrawl fee. The positive benefits of this card allow you to recieve your paycheck/benefits up to 2 business days early. Some people reportedly went without access for 3-7 days. Customers were flooding the Customer Service lines of the RushCard company, only to be told there nothing they can do. Customer Service reps have stated they will be waiving service fees for Customers for the next 6 months or so. The Consumer Financial Protection Bureau is investigating RushCard, as hundreds of thousands of customers are still affected. Tune2This wants to know what would you do if you didn't have access to your money for days/weeks?
